President's letter got to the point on labor "shortage"

March 9, 2018 - State Building Trades President Robbie Hunter helped the San Jose Mercury News get to the point on the so-called labor shortage’s impact on California’s housing crisis.

The paper’s winding and lengthy story finished with a boom when it quoted a USC economic professor as saying that the way to fix a labor shortage “is to pay people more.”

In Hunter’s words, the Mercury News “saved the best for last.”

The president added, “Somebody seems to be getting rich off this housing crisis, and it is not working people.”
