California labor movement's annual legislative conference set for mid-March

Feb. 27, 2018 - Registrations are now being taken for Building Trades members who want to attend the California Labor Federation-State Building and Construction Trades Council’s 2018 Joint Legislative Conference in March in Sacramento.

The good news is you can reserve at hotel room at the Sheraton Grand Hotel conference site for the special rate of $193 a night. The bad news is you’ve got to make your reservation by Wednesday night, Feb. 28, if you want the deal.

You can find everything you need to know about registering for the conference and booking a hotel room by clicking: http://calaborfed.org/events/2018-joint-legislative-conference/

The conference will run Monday and Tuesday, March 19-20, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento, 1230 J Street, 95814, telephone number 916-447-1700 or 1-800-325-3535. Monday will features a plenary session, a rundown of labor’s legislative priorities, lunch, briefings, a reception, and dinner. Tuesday has been set aside as Lobby Day. Check with your Labor Council for the schedule.

“This is going to be an important legislative year, with statewide elections and the Janus vs. AFSCME decision likely to be returned by the U.S. Supreme Court,” said SBCTC Legislative and Political Director Cesar Diaz. “We would urge a strong participation by our unions to drive the Building Trades’ legislative agenda and to stand in solidarity with our public sector sisters and brothers.”
