Registration Open for Third Women Building California and the Nation Conference

January 7, 2013 - Brochures are in the mail and on-line registration is now open for the third Women Building California and the Nation Conference. (This is also the 12th California conference.)  This year the conference will be held on April 5-7 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento.

This event is jointly sponsored by the State Building and Construction Trades Council (SBCTC) and the National Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD). Since the conference went national, it has attracted more than 500 participants from across the state, nation and world. It’s an excellent opportunity for the women in our unions to network and learn skills to help them survive and thrive on the job and become more effective union activists and leaders.

The 2013 event will have a special focus on leadership building. We’ll hold a meet-and-greet of women union leaders on Friday, April 5; a variety of skills workshops throughout the conference, and a policy forum on Sunday, April 7.

The registration fee is $75 for early-bird registration, $100 for general pre-registration, and $125 at the door. Note that SBCTC-affiliated unions get a $15 discount per participant. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch each day, and a reception on Saturday night. A reduced rate of $119/room is available at the Sheraton Grand.

A few conference brochures have been mailed to every affiliated union and apprenticeship program. If you would like more to distribute to all of your women members, please contact Michaela at 916-443-3302. On-line registration is available at www.sbctc.org.
