IMPORTANT NOTICE
As of June 30, 2007, funding for the built project ended. Though this site will not be updated, we will contine to maintain the many great resources that were developed with funds from California's tobacco tax (Proposition 99). We hope you will continue to utilize them with organized labor and blue collar populations.

"Joe Chemo" - http://www.joechemo.org

Since April is Cancer Control Month we thought a web site that emphasized both the consequences and causes of cancer would be appropriate. Then we discovered www.joechemo.org. Some of you may have seen the "Joe Chemo" poster - a hairless camel in a hospital bed. Now he has his own web site that is both informative and fun. Take the "Tobacco I.Q. Test." Look into your future with the "Smoke-A-Scope." Most of all, learn about the consequences of tobacco use, how tobacco companies advertise, and how to quit.

Although Joe Chemo may seem like a joke, there's nothing funny about chemotherapy. This web site is dedicated to chemo patients and their family members, with the hope that it will reduce the number of people who smoke cigarettes and have to suffer through medical treatment.
